Last week (8th June 2020), a series of meetings were lead by Alok Sharma, centered around how businesses across different sectors foresee measures to secure economic recovery being implemented.
The meetings held related to green recovery, increasing opportunity, backing new business, the future of industry, and the UK opening for business. Each meeting had a select committee of UK businesses, organisations, and academics, who shared their views on the best approach for recovery going forward.
The government are also accepting written submissions from other organisations interested in this initiative, with the intention of getting the widest possible range of opinions and ideas across different sectors.
Business Secretary Alok Sharma chaired a series of economic recovery roundtables over the last week (10-13 June), bringing together businesses, business representative organisations, regulators and leading academics. Discussions focused on the measures necessary to support economic recovery and ensure we have the right opportunities in place for growth across the country over the next 18 months and beyond.
