The Government has further extended the moratorium on evictions for commercial rent arrears until the end of the year. This will have a massive impact on landlords who are currently dealing with tenants several months in arrears. 

It is not yet clear whether the moratorium on statutory demands and winding up proceedings will be similarly extended but it seems likely.

This may also inadvertently affect evictions of commercial tenants in breach of their lease, against whom the right of peaceable re-entry cannot be enforced, due to the consequential amendments to the Civil Procedure Rules.
